GY701 governor only here. No problems and simple to set up.

I use the governor in my CGY-750 which is the same as the GY-701.

I have used GY701 and CY ATG v3 and i have to say GY701 is much better.

ATG's problem seems to be very laggy transition from different RPM area to another (IDLE1 -> IDLE2 for example). It takes in worst case approximately 10 seconds for ATG to start adjusting RPM.

Thanks for everyone's input. Can anyone recommend a good solid "stand alone" unit? I ask because I am running a beast x FBL unit and am very happy with it.

Kehno,

I am currently running the ATGv3 and not happy with it and am looking for a good replacement. In the forums, it is hard to apply my BS filter and get a good accurate judgment. I have had the same problems as you mentioned. I have also learned that the unit like it when the motor runs lean actually too lean for my taste. Not happy at all but then again, it could be operator error (me).   ???

The GY701 can be a stand alone unit. You can buy just the governor for 99 bucks. The gyro portion is an add on or available as a total package. That's how I use mine. I run BeastX original with a GY701 which has the box and sensor.

Thanks for the info. I will be looking for one since everyone so far has been happy with the Futaba's!

The gov in the GY701 and CGY750 is very good. The default settings are fine. All you need to do is put in your gear ratio.

You do hear of people having trouble with hunting on the gov. Most often the engine isn't tuned correctly.

If you are looking for an easy stand alone unit, I have had good luck with the RevLimiter. It isn't an active gov, just a headspeed limiter. It is better than a gov that hunts, but not as good as a gov that has the ability to "look ahead".

I will be trying the CGY750 for the first time on my new N5C. Fingers crossed!

If you happen to run a vbar then there is no other choice.

Otherwise I always had very good success with the Multigov.
