MKS servos in N7.
« on: December 30, 2013, 06:34:49 PM »
Hey guys,

Question, I am considering changing to some MKS servos in my N7. I understand that they have a slightly bigger body then Futaba and JR. Will this be in issue? Also, the C shaped servo and MKS compatibility..Any help here is much appreciated.

Daniel

There is no issue running the MKS servos in the N7.

They have slightly more depth to the servo housing compared to Futaba, so they need to be shimmed correctly. I find using some extra Synergy servo hold downs (PN 106-115) works well. Add the extra hold downs behind the cyclic servo mounts and you are good to go.

Cheers,
Mark

Extra servo hold downs work great for spacing them out.

Also you may want to install the Aileron and Pitch servos when installing the top and middle bearing blocks.  Will save you from removing the top bearing block to get them installed later on.

There are I believe one or two extras in the spare parts bag provided in the kits. However you would need more if you are going the MKs / Torq route and want to use extra hold downs to shim the servos.

So if you decide to use extra Servo hold downs specifically to shim the servos, you would need to purchase the additional.

The servo hold downs are available to order separately. They are the same hold downs used in all the Synergy models.

Cheers.
