Title: Pro's and Con's of Using 606 vs 626 main blades
Post by: LaDedric on January 06, 2017, 08:45:58 PM
Hello,

I am planning on  building an E5 stretched.  Will someone please explain to me the differences in flying a E5 with 606 blades vs 626 blades?  I am looking at the Scorpion 4035-560 motor on 12s unless you guys know of a better option.  My desire is to be able to have at least a four (4) plus minute 3D flight.

626 will feel a little lighter on the sticks, be a little more floaty, and auto better. 606 a little faster on the cyclic and higher disc loading.
If you really want to maximize flight time... At 4200W continuous that 4035 is a hoss of a motor for a 626. That could easily power a light 700. I think you may get better flight times with a smaller motor. 4025 size seems to be most common, the Xnova 4030 is a beast and would still be more efficient. I've been rocking a 2900W continuous motor in mine for a long time and never felt like it was short on power. (Scorpion 3536) That being said I know a few guys who run the 4035 and still get decent time. All depends on setup and flying style, but if you push it it's going to draw more power than the smaller motors. Plus it weighs more. But if you like huge power that one is a monster! Have fun

I stretched my e5 to run 626, has power , and autos great

Cliff Chmiel, I appreciate your input.

Danny Digger brings up an interesting point. With the 626 blades on an E5s, do you feel like you are in instant control or do you feel like you have a delayed  response?

he meant floaty by lighter disk loading. you have total control the entire time. there is no delay that is tied to blade size.

Mike Spano,

Thanks!

Thanks Mike, yeah no delay at all. I only meant 606 might feel a little more touchy around center stick, 626 maybe a little more stable feeling. Both will feel connected and dialed in.
