Vbar
« on: January 04, 2013, 09:39:00 AM »
I'm about to attach my Vbar to the E5. Could someone show me the wiring set up from a castle esc and bec to Spektrum receiver (8chanel) to Vbar mini?  I want to use the full size not th satellite. My decision.  Any pics or channel description would be very helpful.  The diagram from Vbar is odd. Mainly need to know which of the two wires plugs into where from the esc. Rich helped me a TON. I still owe him at least one dinner.  Also it is suggested to remove a wire from the bec but neither he or Matt have done that and it's operating fine. Any one know about that?

The only time you remove the red wire from your ESC is, if your ESC has a internal BEC and you are running a external BEC or Flight pack. I think you are running the ICE120HV which doesn't have a internal BEC

I sent you an email on the VBar hookup and RX. I hope it wasn't too confusing. Feel free to call me if you have questions.

and yes, as stated above, your HV ESC doesn't have an internal BEC, so there is no need to remove the red wire on the throttle lead.

Great. I remember you mentioned the wire but that was probably with the CC100 I thought about getting.  Good information to know. Hopefully one day I will help others with info I'm learning now.  Thanks again!

Now that I have CC programmed, cannot get Vbar to even hook up to the computer.  I'm searching the internet now, hopefully I will find something.  But I'm getting power to vbar, but USB connectivity is not showing.  I am trying different ways in case the instructions are wrong.  This is so stupid, I still am not even able to center the servos to attach them to the swash.  Next time I get another helicopter I will probably pay someone to set it up, just not very fun to spend 3-4 days and not really get anywhere.  I haven't flown in over a week and have other things to do, but this setup is taking up all of my free time and getting no where.  It's frustrating.  Not improving pilot skills trying to get a simple process even started.  Sorry, just venting.

Even trying the online update it says port not available.  Tried the recovery file, tried downloading a new edition, trying to upload the new 5.3.4, but nothing is happening.  ANd now my "V" is flashing fast instead of staying lit like it did before.

Now using a different cable.  Feel like I've made it worse since the V keeps flashing.  The recovery probably made it worse.  This sucks.

Got it to work!  Had to load the driver manually by going to computer, then right clicking on that. Followed by properties.  Once I saw the yellow ! I uninstalled the software, then reinstalled after a restart.  Still had some issues so I went to the same driver menu, right clicked in that to install and selected driver 2 USB and everything finally loaded.  Pretty long process but finally programming.  To think I would be done after 3 hours of work on that today.

I don't think you can replace a VBar with a Jive.

Thought this was all CC programing trouble. Drivers not working, no USB?
Was this VB Drivers you had issue with?
My bad.

My bad.

It was a computer problem - he needed to enable the port he had his usb cable plugged into for his vbar.  This had nothing to do with any esc.

Exactly.  This was my stupid not knowing computers fault.  All I know how to do with a computer is compose music.  After that I'm out of it. Lol
