I just noticed there is not a 3rd bearing block... so it looks like the scorpion is the only motor that will work.

Helifinance,

By 3rd bearing block, I assume you are talking about the pinion support bearing block. If you are, then yes, it is absolutely necessary to utilize the pinion support. If you don't, you risk wiping out the motor bearings very prematurely.

Hope this helps.

James

Not sure what you mean about third bearing block.  As James said there is a pinion support block of the same design as the E7 and it works great.  Make sure that the pinion rests all the way down on top of the bearing before tightening it up using the set screws.

Rich/James, I was referring to the pinion support bearing and your points well noted.  I ordered a scorpion... but really wanted to use one of the pyro's I had laying around.

I've got it now .... sometimes I'm a little slow.  ;D  Two internal motor bearings, one external bearing and the block. Geez how did I miss that?

Ryan,  I have an Xera 1000kv and its a 5mm shaft so unless the scorpion shaft will work as a replacement I think the motor can not be used in this application.

Hello, we will see. The listings now show them with a 6mm output shaft.

The old blue & black 1000kv motors had the 5mm shaft, but I believe the new all black motors (now that Tony has the business) have been revised.
