Title: Landing Gear dampners
Post by: jayster10 on March 02, 2016, 02:02:23 PM
Looking for a consensus on whether or not to use the landing gear dampeners on my N5C. Anyone have any input?

what are you referring to Jay?

rubber rings like the old Align helis used to have on their skid tubes? if so, I would say no, they can cause the heli to stick to asphalt instead of slide, causing issues. IMO

Mike,

Yeah, those are what I am referring to. I was thinking they would be useful to protect the landing gear, but really they are not very expensive so would just replace when needed.

Thanks for the input.

that's what I would do. I promise that if you go to land on asphalt or concrete, and you are not going straight down, they COULD cause a tip over. they probably wont every time, but they could, so I just don't use them, never did.

I only run 2 at the rear of the heli and they are not glued in place. I can do a sliding auto no problem with 2 at the rear only.
