Title: New Synergy E7se
Post by: applesorbananas38 on February 01, 2015, 08:08:48 PM
Just became the proud owner of an E7se and I'm lonin it! However, during the course of getting to know the helicopter better mechanically I noticed that the tail pitch links were fitting quite snug on the tail pitch pivot ball. That being said as a result of the links being too snug the helicopter would wag during flight. After going through the tail with a fine tooth comb I realized that the only solution to the tail wag would be to ream the link until I get the silky smooth feeling that that we all look for. Has anyone else experienced a binding in the tail as a result of the links in the tail being too tight?

Welcome!  All of the links will most likely be too tight when they're brand new.  To size them, you'll need to get yourself one of these... http://mattbotos.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=29&products_id=1629 (http://mattbotos.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=29&products_id=1629)

To optimize smooth operation of the plastic links, the Synergy manuals recommend using the Boto-Sizer (part 700-001) (http://www.amain.com/synergy-boto-sizer-ball-link-sizing-tool/p221331).  The Synergy E7SE manual states it on page 34.

Welcome to one of the best helicopter families in existence! As all have said, you need to get you a Boto Sizer. After you size them links, you'll be ready to rock and roll.

Just don't make them to loose use the sizer, too loose they will come off in flight, mainly on the cyclic.  :)
