The helicopter eating alfalfa field
« on: September 21, 2012, 05:15:47 PM »
So, this field where I fly a lot tried to eat my 6HV earlier this year.  It took me probably 8 hours of searching, finally  using a metal detector and GPS to find it.  The alfalfa was over knee high at the time and it was about 105 degrees out.  Anyway, a couple of weeks ago, I crashed my 450X in the field.  It hit so hard, the battery pack flew off somewhere and I never did find it.  I counted the battery pack as an offering to the field so that it might not try to eat any more of my helicopters.

Finally, to the picture...  I took this the other night.  I thought maybe if I just let them sit there in the field for a minute and they didn't explode I might finally be at peace with the dastardly field.  :P

I know, right!?

I  had my maiden flight with it last Sunday and I've flown it every day this week.  I am still just over the moon happy with it.

Yesterday was about 70 degrees and dead calm out.  I went out to my parent's house to fly.  They live about 15 miles from me and their house is out in the middle of all farm land.  Their nearest neighbor is about 1/2-mile away.  I took three helicopters, all my batteries, and my charging equipment and flew for about 5 hours.
