E7 tail shaft drive pinnion
« on: November 13, 2011, 05:39:10 AM »
Another great day at WMAC with bright skys and light breezes so after putting a quick  pac through the E7 with a couple of mins of hovering and then some light 3D to test her out, I handed the controls over to Brendan who diagnosed a couple of things to adjust after a quick flight and landing. After a few adjustments  and an improved flight result, whilst standing around and the letting forth of everyones diagnosis and solutions Brendan and my attention came down to belt tension and he grabbed the tail and head saying "it shouldn't slip when forced"and low and behold the sound of pop,pop as the belt slipped(k something to adjust later no probs). I then grabed the tail and head looking carefully at the tail spindle and noticed that it was moving back and forth on the shaft and the shaft had also moved across 2mm (not good).
So today was very productive with a lucky escape, a lesson learned and of coarse the enjoyment of one of the finest engineered heli's I've flown yet. Cheers
P.S Thanx twinkles with ur help it's greatly appreciated, have re done Vbar
The esscence  is there, its just fighting to get out...!!
