Birmingham 2012 was probably our best yet, and while the flying was off the hook all weekend long, it was Saturday night that made the event. There was tons of food and fun, everybody was cooking and flying. Redneck night flying was in full force.
Bobby Watts: You Rock! That fireworks and pyro show was incredible, words can't describe it, it's one you just have to see.
Nick Maxwell, that hurricane in the spotlight was pure insanity, I'm pretty sure you broke a few laws (of physics).
Tony Whiteside, man, I know some half crazy folks but brother, wow ... I don't know how your helis just don't melt from the headspeeds you run .. awesome!
Wolfie ... what happens in Birmingham stays in Birmingham! I hope some of those movies and pics don't get out, lol!
Matt Botos ... Dude, you're just the man and those 10 pounders you must carry around in your shorts were in full swing with that half mile out night flight through the tree line ... and then BEHIND the tree line, AT NIGHT, what what WHAT?!?!
Toby ... Food, food, food, food, food, you cooked the entire time, and fed everybody, huge! And that hamburger thing, wow, I wanted to lick the grill.
Charley Stephens (and family) ... You're just good people man, we really love having you guys in Birmingham.
... and of course:
Bert Kammerer
Jamie Robertson
... were tearing it up ...
Gary Wright ... Idle Up Baby!!! Please visit more often, the statue should be here in a few weeks, we'll just put it at the front gate!
Carl "Maverick" Groover Smooth, smooth, smooth.
The raffle ... everybody got something, there was some REALLY good stuff ... several kits, lots of gear, ... special thanks too:
RcHeliWorkz ... Thank You!!!
Ready Heli ... Thank You!!!
Castle Creations ... Thank You!!! (Thanks Clint!)
E-Mergent R/C ... Thank You!!!
Team Synergy ... My blue brothers, love you guys. Did you notice anything interesting at the event? I did, pics soon!
and everybody else, THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS ONE OF OUR BEST!!!

This was my first heli event since getting into this facet of the hobby about a year and a half ago. I have flown rc planks for years but not heli's.
This was an awesome event and between the demos, night show and the overall camaraderie it outshines any plank event I have ever attended.
The Synergy folks are fantastic. I needed some of that expert help with my N5 on Saturday and Kevin came to the rescue. He worked for about 45 minutes with my me and the N5 to work out the issues.
I have been looking hard at all the 700 class birds available and was torn. After that experience and seeing the great support system that Matt has developed I have decided on the E7.
I should have my order completed this evening. Can't wait!
Thanks for the help Kevin, Matt and of course Wolfie (nice blades).
Cheers :)

who has the Video of Matt,Bobby,Nick flying the 3 Way?? that was something to see!! Alan, Thank you for the Kind words, This is what you can expect from Synergy, This is how we Roll!!! You can say you got Railed by Wolfie. ;D. Let me know how the N5 does, Give Ralph a call he has a "TON" of N5 parts, Let's start fresh with a new start shaft and Clutch bell bearings followed by new start shaft bearings. You saw how I did the alignment and you know now what to look for. If you need any help just give a shout!! Congrats on the E7 , you will find the E6/7 Build Tips/Tricks section in the Forum, Highly recommend getting familiar with it and the Manual before you Build, I know it will be a breeze for you, just some good ideas in there. Pleasure was all Mine meeting you! Had a Blast. ;)

Again thanks for the tips and help Kevin. I have already started scouring the forum for E7 tips. Spoke with Ralph last night. Ordered kit, blades, Hacker 470kv motor and he threw in titanium links and a kevlar tail belt.
Ralph is having Matt send me a kit directly as he was out of stock.
I am putting a castle ice HV120 and a CGY750 in it. The will be my first experience with the CY750. Usually use VBAR but I have been wanting to try the Futaba since I fly an 8FG.
I hope to have it ready to go for Huntsville. Going on vacation for 10 days the first of April so I may be pressed for time.
I did replace the clutch bell assembly and starter shaft on the N5. Actually had those in my stash. Need to order the starter shaft bearing yet. I also discovered that the upper main shaft bearing is glitchy.
Cheers,
Alan
