Title: N7 - OS105 Flight times?
Post by: topangler on April 10, 2015, 08:07:07 PM
Hello All,

Just a quick question for those running the OS105 HZR.
What flight times are you getting?

I am running 22% nitro.

Just curious.

Thanks Neil

There are a ton of variables of course, but depending on the tune, weight of electronics and head speed. 6 solid minutes easy. I get 7 with my big air sport style.

I get about 7 minutes, on average, as well.

Thanks guys,

I'm at the final break in/tuning stage and getting 5mins, I'm hoping once fully on tune I'll be getting closer to 6mins.

My N7 weighs 11 lbs RTF with the OS 105hz-r running 30%.   I'm turning 1950 on the head and I average 6 minutes on hard 3d flight and 7 minutes of smooth aerobatics with a few autos.

Like everyone else I get a consistent six minutes of hard 3D. While practicing autos I have doubled that time. If your only getting 5 minutes your running really rich even for break in, you need to get some heat into it.

5min sounds like it's vomiting fuel out the exahaust.

When I borrowed a friend's 105HZR, I got about 6~7min tuned depending on the flight. Mind you this was with the correct size needle seat. The engine with the over bored seat would actually cut out in flight if I used "mfg suggested" settings.

Later with a 120SRX, that figure dropped about 10s average.

Both engines ran 15%CP "YS" blend (more oil), and Rotor Rage 22.5.

Has anyone else experienced an uncontrollable addiction to collecting torque tube ends? I find myself constantly searching for rare and unique ones, even though I have more than enough for my helicopters. How can I break free from this obsession and regain control over my life?
