Xnova Motor Sources
« on: September 04, 2018, 11:03:00 AM »
I am trying to find a dealer who carries the Xnova 4020-1000kv motor with the type D shaft or find a dealer than can at least order the motor.

The two well known USA dealers have been zero help and apparently are not willing to special order the motor.

Do you guys have any recommendations on how to acquire a Xnova 4020-1000kv motor with the type D shaft for a Synergy 516?

Thanks,

Shawn

Why XNova? Scorpion has a great motor for this heli. Just saying.

I do appreciate the response.

Regarding the decision to go with Xnova over Scorpion, it boils down to personal preference.  I have and always will be a fan of Xnova motors as they make a great motor: not saying Scorpion doesn't. From my experience they appear to be efficient and run cool. I also prefer the color of the case vs the Scorpion motor and again that is personal preference.

However, if I cannot get my hands on an Xnova soon, I might have to bite the bullet and go with a Scorpion motor.

Cheers!

If everyone felt that way, we'd all still be driving Model T Fords. Just saying...

Thanks for the info!

I did contact Rotorquest and was told it might take a month to get the motor.  I'll give helilids a buzz and see what happens.

BTW, my comment wasn't meant as a knock on Scorpion motors, either.

BKServo to the rescue.

They can order the 4020-1000kv in the Lightning variant and was told it would take two to three weeks: I can suffer a little.

On the bright side, the Xnova Lightning motor does have a little Scorpion motor color on the case so that should make steffgiguere feel a little better:)... j/k

Cheers!

Either I had a post deleted or I made a mouse click error so here it is again:)

The Xnova 4020-1000 and 4020-1200kv motors can be special ordered with the type D shaft for the Synergy 516 at no additional cost due to a special order.  The only drawback is you might have to wait a few weeks.

Maybe this will help someone in the future who cannot find one of those specific motors in stock.

Cheers!

I run Scorpion in mine and love it. As the norm they come down warmer, but perform exceptionally well.
