Re: 6s E5 streched

hey guys , have any one ran E5 streched on 6s yet , and what head speed we need to perform for mild 3D to sports fly ?

There's a guy on RR running an E5 stretched to a 700 running on 6S, and now 7S with Rail 696 blades.  He was running 1600 RPM but says he's run it at 1700-1750, as well.

To be clear were talking about a 600 conversion running 606's, etc?

Cheers

I know, right!?  I absolutely love my E5 as a 550 but, dang, I'm having a really hard time keeping myself from trying this...

890 KV on 6S with 14 tooth pinion will be cutting it close, max, around 2400 head speed. I have a 890KV motor but running it on 7S.

The E7 pinion isn't compatible with the E5 main gear.  I have a 1220kv motor with a 13t pinion and I've run as high as 2800 rpm.

Re: Synergy E5 - Information Thread SAVOX 1200KV
« Reply #115 on: May 25, 2013, 09:07:57 PM »
savox 1200kv with 14t pinion was to fast for me .Great power tho, my batteries did not like that lol ,they got warm +,   ran 5 min at 90% flat curve  .will try tomorrow 12t pinion instead 14 .The head speed i was happy with was at 2400/2500 that is a sweet range. ;D .

Yep, that's probably my favorite head speed, as well.  I will admit, I did like 2800 quite a bit but didn't like the flight times.  ;D

Suggestion for the Cyclic Servo Installation.  If you have Servos with a top mounted strain relief for the servo wires (Such as the RJX').  It makes installation much easier to pull the top bearing block, install the servos in the lower block, then slide the top block back into place.

E5 Tail boom won't right up?  Seems like the tail boom diameter is to small? Clamps are bottomed out? Thoughts?

Barry,

Have you measures the boom against another?  I have never seen that happen before. Other end of the boom do the same thing?

Cheers
