Title: Painting Rail blades ???
Post by: redandblue450 on January 28, 2020, 11:31:35 AM
I am building a Jet Ranger 700 size and I am using Rail 696 and Rail 106 blades.

I want to paint them red/white and black/white stripes to make it look scale.

Is there any issue painting them?

If I can paint them without harming the blades then is there any paint that I need to use or not use ?

Thanks, Brent.

You can lightly sand to break the gloss for paint to  adhere. I am about to do that for my airwolf. Acetone might work as well to degloss.
If you are on Facebook look up Evan Sayres. He does scale and uses rails at times.
Paint wise I plan on flat black lacquer. Checking weight and balance of course.
Cheers
