When I attempted to place the small spring onto the belt tensioner, I managed to stretch the coil so far out that the spring is rendered useless.
Can you guys tell me if the spring can be replaced by a local supplier? It would be nice to have a few springs on hand just in case.
Btw, I am enjoying the 516 build so much, I have decided to keep the N7 and finish it up after the 516 is completed.
Thanks!

Thank you.. I do realize I could get a replacement spring at helilids. I could also purchase one from Amain or direct from Synergy.
However, at $4.00 for a single spring, I have to draw the line and try and find an alternative. There are 200 piece spring sets available for 10 bucks:)

The problem with trying to source individual springs is that it's very expensive to buy one of them, no matter who you buy them through. On the plus side... that spring isn't a part that's normally going to need to be replaced very often, if ever, under normal conditions. When you're installing the spring, if you keep tension on the belt by manually pushing the tension arm, you won't have to stretch the spring much to get it installed. Hope that helps.

After finishing the cheese with my whine, I went ahead and ordered a replacement spring ;D

That's good. Because we spent countless hours to find the exact spring tension, rate, and length, in order to optimize belt tension to balance efficiency, skipping, and boom slap.
