Gluing threaded rods into carbon rod for tail
« on: April 30, 2013, 04:34:32 PM »
I know you use the 30 mm threaded rods for the carbon rod for the tail but the manual says glue in 62 mm in for the 78 mm thread. That would leave 16 mm of the treaded rod protruding from the carbon rod if the rod was 78 mm - so do I do the same with 30 mm rod (glue it so there is 16 mm of the 30 mm rod sticking out)?

Also is the tail push rod sleeve just a piece of heat shrink?

Cheers,

Ali

its a mistake in the manual dude,,i just glued my 30mm rods half way in,,no the push rod sleve is not normal heat shrink its teflon and the manual and most people say to use a hairdryer ,now i had many attempts at this and was never happy with the result so i found the best way was a lighter and do it quickly starting from the middle and working out both ways but be sure to leave it a good 10 mins before you touch it as it stays very soft for a while
