You can also remove the servo plug to make it easier to slip through the loom. Either tape or heat shrink over the wire ends so they won't snag. You can fit 2-3 servo leads through the smaller loom this way. I also like to use short (1/2")  bands of heat shrink on my wire bundles inside the loom. One about every 3-4".

The heat shrink just keep the wires flat inside the loom.  You can cut small bands about a 1/4" wide from a piece of heat shrink tube.

Rich is correct- they are just to bundle the wires. It won't cut in like zip ties and slips through the loom.
