Title: Another really hard crash!
Post by: Jake on May 21, 2012, 11:33:28 PM
Had my N5C going perfectly this weekend at the Positive Pitch Funfly in Australia, when SUDDENLY;

(http://a3.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/s720x720/546244_10150892662938954_782278953_9493143_655693292_n.jpg)

My tail pushrod separated in the middle of a low hurricane. The tail kicked around and the heli went straight down.

Broke both frames around the fuel tank, so it's a total writeoff :)

Something that interests me was my Futaba BLS172HV's on the cyclic. Most of my linkages (FBL head links, swash-bellcrank links, servo-bellcrank links) were bent, servo horns snapped, and the elevator arm was actually twisted. Be wary using high torque servos, you may break more than expected :p

Anyway.

Time for a 4530-520 Limited powered E7.

Bring the pain :)

Jake.

Good picture but sorry for your loss on that one. Times like these are when I remember why I only fly slow and in circuits and nothing else. Haha.

Between my front half and your back half, we pretty much destroyed a whole heli. Sorry to see another one bite the dust, but that the game we play.

I feel your pain!  I put in my E6 again last week. Twice this month!  I think this was due to s stripped servo horn that I missed after the first crash. Not bad.  Just a new boom, braces and pushrod.  Hopefully these don't come in threes :-)

Cheers
Alan
