Title: Another newbie question Gear ratio
Post by: birddawgg on June 12, 2013, 09:54:50 PM
I've gone through the manual from end to end and I cannot find what the gear ratio is for the 20T pinion to 170T main gear. Can anyone pass that info on?

Thanks, Scott

Hi Scott,

The gear ratio would be 8.5:1

Out of curiosity. What heli is that with a 20t pinion and 170t main gear?

Cheers

Thanks for the quick info yet again. It is the N5c, I thought I was posting in the correct forum for this question. Had to Look and verify that I was in the N5/N5c forum. Sorry if I confused anyone.

FYI, if you have tooth counts, the gear ratio is calculated by dividing the main gear count by the pinion count.

i.e. 170/20 = 8.5
