My kit is missing 2 - 78mm pushrods.

They aren't really missing. I and a few others ran into the same thing. You're actually supposed to use the extra set of smaller push rods for the tail and the 78mm pushrods go on the head. The manual however says to use 78mm on the tail and the head.
