Title: What Motor do you run on your E7?

I'm getting close to pulling the trigger on an E7 and want to know what motors everyone is running, plus what size lipo packs/headspeed/flight times.

I have ran a couple of motors on mine.

Currently I have a Scorpion HK4530-500LE and a 12t pinion. LOVE IT! A real beast!

Other popular choices are the Hacker A50-12L 470, Scorpion 4035-500, Pyro 700-52. Pyro 700-45, KDE 700XF.

Lots of options, the best part of the Synergy Platform is the flexibility :)

Haha Chris, I reread your post and I think I know which one is your favorite.  Trying to multitask at work. :)
So what kind of flight times are you getting on the HK4530-500LE?

Well I am a sport/big air flyer, I don't do any 3D to speak of.  On a 5000mAh pack with my 716mm mains at 2050rpm I am getting 6 minutes easy.

At Bham Tommy flew my E7 for 5 minutes hard 3D and the packs were great, I don't remember the cell voltage.

Scorpion 4525-520 Ultimate. Great motor, using it on both my E7's. Also tried the Xera 4530-520. Works good too.
12t pinion, 2150hs on 696's.

For packs, 4000's and 4400's.

I run the Hacker A50-12L 470 with 5000mAh 30C batteries.  I run 2100 rpm head speed, fly for 6 minutes, and the batteries are at around 25%.  For me, this motor has more than enough power.  Looking at the CC logs, it hits peaks of around 4500 watts during my flights and has plenty of grunt for my flying abilities.

I like the price on the Hacker @$190.  Maybe I can pick one up on the forums on the cheap. :)

I run a Scorpion HKIII 4035-450 14T pinion, Revolectrix 60C 5000 with 1600 hover, 1800 IU 1 and 1900 IU 2.

I fly F3C style and get 8 mins with some hovering and aeros. I land with about 30-35% left in the packs.

I run the Quantum 4530-500.  It runs super smooth lots of power.  I have 410 flights on it without issue.

My #1 E7 has the Scorpion HKlll 4035-500 kv  with TP 4400mah and 5000 mah packs
#2 E7 has Quantum 4530-500kv and is Smooth as Well.TP 4400mah and 5000 mah packs
#3 E7 has a Hacker A50-12L-470kv and runs smooth as well. TP4400 mah and 5000mah packs

 All 3 run great for my Flying Style But my other Ships have Scorpions (My Motors of choice) !

Hi

I'm looking for a motor for the E7. I could get a Scorpion HK 4525-520 (Mikado 700 xxtreme Edition) or a Quantum 4530-500. When I would use the Scorpion I have to change the spindle. When using Mr. Mel's Headspeedcalc it seems that the Quantum would be the better solution.

Has anyone experience with both of the motors on the E7?
(max headspeed will be 2000-2100, 40C packs, 5000 mAh)

Hi Thomas,

I have not had any experience with the Quantum motor but i do run a Scorpion 4525-520 Ultimate in my E7, for your target headspeed the 12T pinion will be a good choice for that motor.

Hi Thomas,

I tested both motors whilst searching for my setup and i prefer the Scorpion. Both are very good but the Quantum is slightly heavier. I really like the power delivery of the 4525 when running vbar governor and a 12T pinion. 2100-2200 rpm on that setup is optimal in my opinion. My setup provides a 4 minute flight, 80-90% discharge on 12S 4500 65C packs. Collective +/- 11.7 degrees.

If you pushed me I might go so far as to say the continuous torque of the Quantum felt higher, but the 4525 feels like it gives better peak bursts. However this is subjective and its been a while since i flew the Quantum. They are both good choices.

Ross and Anthony, thx for your help.

Since the E7 is not in stock here in Switzerland I have a little bit time to find my setup. I will also use the Vbar governor with ESC YGE 160HV.

I spoke today with my local dealer, his Team-Pilot had a Quantum 4530-500. After having some experience now with the E7 and the Quantum Motor his suggestion is a X-era 4530-450 KV Goblin Edition.

Has anyone experience with the X-era 4530-450?

My preference order  would be:

- Scorpion 4525
- Xera
- Quantum
