So I went through and redid my E5 settings in my Ikon, as I have now stretched it. I was looking at my ESC, and well I was thinking 1100 1200 and 1300 for headspeed settings, but it was telling me that it was too low for proper governing. That got me thinking, should I tell the ESC I'm running 12c packs, when I'm really running 6c packs, and set my speeds for twice what I'd like? Thoughts?

whats going to happen is the ESC is going to overheat. you need to get a smaller pinion, and/or lower KV motor. some guys that fly scale will actually fly a 12s motor with a 6s pack to get that low of a HS.....you still need to be in the 90-95% on a castle to get optimum performance. just my .02

you could also get a ESC that has active freewheeling...that should help too. they say it does anyway. I have never actually tried it.

What motor are you running? If you are running a 1100kv motor that was on 6s then you would need to swap motors to 550kv range motor. If you are running a 550 KV motor on 6s (you were originally running 12s) you should be close to what you are looking for. What pinion are you running?

Thanks for the info all! Looks like no low speed for me then.
I am running a Scorpion 4025-1100kv motor with I believe 13t pinion (or maybe it's 12T, it was the lowest one that came in the kit).
I'll just keep my eyes out for a different motor, maybe be a winter project.

You could run 21-2300 HS with your setup just nicely.

I could, but that's way too fast for me. I don't need all that head speed. 1800-1900 is perfect for me, and gives me easily over 5 minutes of flight time, probably closer to 6 minutes.
