Title: HZ-R Regulator Tip
Post by: Jon Mills on January 05, 2015, 06:25:28 AM
Rarely for some, and often for others, (me) the regulator diaphragm will stick causing the motor to flood with fuel.

Next time, before you take it apart, try this. Take the fueling lead of your fuel pump and insert it in the hose going to the carb, or for the guys or gals using a t insert the probe normally and pinch the hose going to the tank, next try sucking fuel out of the carb by turning backwards or reversing fuel pump. This will 9 times out of 10 return your regulated engine back to normal operation.

You can also do this prior to fueling every time to ensure you don't fill your motor up during the fueling process.

Happy 2015 hope every body is good!

Mine did that during break-in, but hasn't since. Good tip, I would never thought of that. Instead, once I landed, I would shut off the fuel line while the motor is idling and let the fuel burn out.
