Title: New Synergy member!
Post by: rcnut on January 29, 2015, 08:11:13 PM
Hi everyone!

I just bought my first Synergy N7! As a matter of fact, I bought the last heli in stock at Experience.com!!! ;D I've been researching several other helis to replace my Team Heliproz Nitro Whiplash, and the N7 won!

I'm looking forward to flying this heli. I hope it flys as good or better than my Team Whiplash and Rave 90 ENV.

Thanks everyone!

I'm looking forward to building and flying this heli. I've watch the original N9 come to life many years back with JK and _____ (dang! His name just slipped my mind! Getting old really sucks! LoL!) Edit: Todd Bennet. Eric Brandenburg would come down and visit us from time to time and show off his N5. As I was getting to know Eric, we would discuss flying styles and told him what style I liked...a mix of mild to wild 3D and FAI, close to his style. Eric commented several years back, that the Synergy heli would be a great fit for me. So now I shall see! ;D

If you don't mind, a little background;

I've been flying helis for over 30 year, with plankers mixed in. 97% of my flying has been self taught and has taken a long time to get where I'm at now! I come from the "old school" of learning...practice, practice, practice, do it over and over and over and over... However, the last couple of years, I've been making big jumps in my learning curve. Things are finally starting to click. I also teach (those willing to learn) others to fly helis, including buddy boxing.

I think part of my learning comes from my teaching others the basics of heli flight, and not to mention showing them (students) how this works with my heli and most importantly with their heli. My buddy Mark has made big improvements in his flying, mostly due to watching me put his heli through its paces. To see your own heli being flown by a "pro" not only insures the owner it flys like the way the pro's fly, but theirs will do all those maneuvers they dream of. Mark gets the benefits of seeing me breakdown a maneuver I want to try, and then work on all the smaller parts. Then put all the parts together and watch the "magic" happen. I keep explaining to Mark the process "I" go through and then help him to create a process for him, one that works for him.

Sometimes I have to "kick" him in the butt to try new stuff, but in the end he sees what I am trying to teach him and how to break through those barriers. And as an instructor, it is an emence feeling to watch the student "get it" and perform it over and over...to see that joy in their face, that's worth the ticket!

I know I "pushed the button" late last night...I am sitting on pins and needles waiting for my new heli to arrive! Mark and I already setup a "heli build party", much like the super bowl. I'll have everything laid out, workbench cleaned and ready, camera charged and ready, snacks and beverages at hand, tools at the ready!

Thanks for letting me "bend" your ears for a moment!

Hi Mike!

Good to see you here as well. ;D I didn't know you owned a Synergy, that's cool! So how do you like yours? Which one do you have? How does it fly? What motor are you using?

You know…20 questions! LoL!

I can't wait to get mine in the air!
