Title: New to Synergy
Post by: Aaron T on March 23, 2015, 09:13:30 PM
Hey guys... First post in here, wanted to say hi. Aaron Terwillegar, Cincinnati Ohio. Been flying since 2009, been into RC 35 years (life long) mostly racing off road nitro buggies. Watched my father fly heli's since the early 80s, I finally got BIT by the flying bug in 09 and started flying myself. Had my hands on almost every single manufacturer's heli's in the past few years, decided to SELL THEM ALL and go SYNERGY now. Ordered up an E5 to see how I like it, should arrive tomorrow morning. Kinda excited!  ;) Ive ran into the SYNERGY crew more than once in the past few years, along with a lot of reps. Always happy at fun flys and very helpful/knowledgeable. SO, I figured...I wanna get in on that SYNERGY SMILE TOO! Been running RAIL blades on all my heli's for a few years, figured it was time to bolt them onto the heli's it was designed for. Excited for the change, ran other popular brands the past few seasons..I think its time to do my last change to synergy. Just wanted to say hey, looking forward spending some time with my synergy heli this summer. See you guys at THE FIELD!.......Aaron

Welcome Aaron. You are going to enjoy the E5. It's nice to have options if you get bored with the 6s 550 configuration.

Cheers
Alan

Welcome to the family Aaron, you are going to enjoy the E5! It's incredibly versatile with multiple configurations available, but it is awesome with the 6s 550 configuration.

Enjoy the build and if you have any questions just give us a shout.
Cheers,

You guys sure know how to make a guy feel welcome  :) Been working on the E5 a little at a time at night, got most all of it done except a few last odds and ends. I have a ball link sizer that i thought would work, turns out its just too small to do the job. Ordered up the BOTO-sizer from Experience RC, should be here tomorrow or Wednesday. Also ran into a strange issue with the swash AR guide bearings being 8mm instead of 7mm. Matt and Amy sent them right out to me last friday, hoping they show up soon so I can finish my setup and get this bad boy in the air this week! Great customer service from them guys. Ive been bugging Chris on FB, BOMBING him with random questions as the build progressed...he's been a great help. Extremely happy with the way it went together, quality and fitment on everything was just great. Couldn't really ask for any better. Ive always enjoyed building kits, this has been a different level than Im used too (goblin-align)..I like this kind of kit better. Makes you get your hands into every single thing, nice to get to know your machine throughout for future maintenance (or oops's). Definitely my kinda kit. After building this Im dead set on the the N5c TT later this year ( a crazy amount of medical bills have to be paid first  :-\) That will be my first nitro heli, be ready for questions later boys! I have quite a lot of time messing with nitro motors on my race buggies, just not heli nitros...REALLY can't wait for that! Love that smell....I tried to post some pics up in here of how the build is going, its kinda fighting me. Any insight would be awesome. Thanks again guys, really liking this fourm here.

It's been great talking with you as you build. Just wait till you fly that bad boy. Nothing like an E5 man!

N5c? Now your talking my language!?! That's the bird that set the hook on my nitro obsession!

Yeah, I had no idea what a slippery slope that was going to be when I bought my N5C, LOL.

Got it done, got 10 flights on it last week. SUPER HAPPY with the way this E5 flys. Smooth, fast, agile, roll/flip rate is just great! Couldn't be any happier. Tail authority is just amazing on it, very predictable.  I see lots of flights going into this bad boy in the coming months. Glad I made the change to SYNERGY, looks like you guys have something really good going on here. Happy to be part of it now. Once I get my FBL unit perfect, Ill make some videos.  8)

Yes, great to hear your enjoying it. I fly my E5 more than the rest of my Synergies. Easy to get 6 flights in on the way home.

Glad you're enjoying your E5, it's a fabulous machine! It is so fast at flipping and rolling it has spoiled me when flying my E7. You are going to LOVE an N5c too, especially with longer flight times and it is just the smoothest machine to fly, just a great feel!

I assume you've got way more flights on your E5 by now, I know you're enjoying it!

Aaron, glad to hear you are enjoying your E5, got 6 flights on mine (not nearly enough) this weekend. Have you shifted your attention to the new 766? I'm looking forward to seeing one up close, that thing has got to be awesome!

Hey Bob, Im about 70sum flights on my E5 now, and 60 flights on an N5ctt I built not long after that. Last month I built an N7, but the OS 105 I bought for it has been a total POS since the beginning. Its grounded currently till a miracle comes along to figure it out. I can't wait too see the 766 up close in a few days!

Aaron,

Oh yeah, I'm really looking forward to the 766. I think back to my initial considerations on electric vs. nitro and I am surprised at the change! I went electric from my N5c because I was concerned with fuel costs with a 700 sized heli, hence the purchase of my E7. But then I acquired the E5 and I absolutely love it...and it's electric, what the heck! Now I'm more stoked about the 766 than I ever was about the N7. I will never get rid on my N5c though and who knows, I might just have to pick up an N7 one day, the heck with fuel costs! Money ain't worth a thing until you spend it, haha!

If I recall recently another team member was having difficulty getting an OS 105 tuned and OS finally gave him a completely new engine and problems were solved. Maybe that is what you need, good luck with that!

Bob
