Title: BK servos mounting
Post by: firefighternickn on July 02, 2017, 01:19:14 AM
I'm using BK 8001 servos. Could someone please let me know if I need to use the rubber grommets and the brass eyelets to mount these servos?

I used them on my N7.  It's nice to have a bit of vibration protection for the servos on a nitro heli.

This doesn't change the geometry of the head? Everything else in he manual stays the same, right?

I believe u r gonna find this a "loaded" question... using the rubber grommets & brass eyelet doesn't change anything u will notice in flight. Some like it for absorbing vibration.. especially on nitro models... others don't use them at all & just hard mount their servos. Ultimately it's just a matter of preference. I personally use them on all my models. If u do use them, the side of the grommet with the ring goes against the heli.

I have done it both ways, hard mount and rubber mount. Either way you are fine.

You would be wise to use the rubber grommets and eyelets for mounting your servos on your N7.
Give yourself some piece of mind that vibrations are not going to increase the odds of servo failure.
