Title: Aloha from Scottsdale
Post by: mikepadron on August 15, 2017, 06:05:43 PM
Hello Synergy family.  I just moved from the Big Island of Hawaii to Scottsdale AZ.  Now I can reasonably get nitro so I just ordered an N7.

Thank you Matt for a beautiful product and the support you have given me in the past with Rail blades.

Thank you Chris Sexton for the build videos - you will never buy a drink in my presence!

Aloha,

Mike

Hi Mike,

This is a really big mistake that you do....then u wont have another 90 so far than the N7. I have mine since the release. Hes like a tank and very durable. If you build it like the manual and chris sextons videos it cant go wrong.
What engine u will mount on it?

Have fun.

Thanks guys,

I ran a lot of YS engines in my planker days, so I decided on the YS96SRX Tareq and Hatori SB-19FH4 on Enya 3 and Cool Power 30% turning Rail 696/106.  It should pull hard and sound great!

The resources and advise on this forum are amazing.  The rest of the setup will be:

Futaba BLS 275 cyclic and throttle
Futaba BLS 276 rudder
VBAR NEO (I've watched the VBAR Control Nitro programming videos and my hair hurts....)
Futaba Magnetic RPM Telemetry Sensor
Perfect regulators Safe Switch 2 Plus
Gryphon pin switch
SwitchGlo Pro
Lynx MOAS V2 FUEL CLUNK
PULSE 3600mAh 2S Receiver Battery

If anyone sees a problem or has a recommendation, please let me know.

Aloha,

Mike

Mike do your research on the futaba magnetic gov sensor. It will not work with the neo. I just went through this because I switched one of my N7's from a silverline to a neo. From what I understand, the silverline has a regulator built in to bring the gov output power down to 3.3 volts (or somewhere near that) and the neo puts out way to much voltage for the futaba sensor. Now I do believe that the backplate sensor works fine. I myself use an align sensor. It works flawlessly.

Thank you for the heads up Josh!  I see now where the Futaba Sensor requires a 5V voltage regulator for the NEO.  I think I will keep it simple and go with an Align sensor (swapping black to positive and red to negative).

Cheers,

Mike

Hello! Welcome to the synergy Family!

I’m glad Josh got you sorted on the RPM sensor, I was going to point that out too.

Lots of us use Vcontrol on our nitros so if you get stuck don’t hesitate to come on back we’ll get you squared away!

Yes sir. The align sensor can be a little frustrating to mount but it is very doable. You will have a great setup. I run the BLS275SV on mine too. Great servo So locked in!!
