Trouble with Head Disassembly on New N5C
« on: December 17, 2012, 08:36:08 PM »
Building a new N5C (first Synergy!); purchased the kit from Ralph at FBL. Having a tough time getting the head apart to check everything for grease. Tried a little heat, but still couldn't break it free. Any suggestions?

The thread locker that shipped on them is pretty strong. I ended up using heat and "T" handled hex drivers.  It will break loose after a little work.  And when it does break loose you will need a Grippy Duo (green) to remove the bolt from the opposite side or, just slide the shaft out the other side.  Was the same for the thread locker on the E7 head.

Got it. More heat and torque required. Good idea on the T-handle Allen wrenches. Thanks!

The green Grippy Duo will save you a lot of time with this in the future.  Once you break one side loose you still have to contend with other side, this is where the Grippy is a great tool to have.
