One way bearing
« on: December 21, 2012, 05:00:38 PM »
Hello all I'm second guessing if I have the one way bearing installed correctly (up or down). Currently if I rotate the head clockwise it turns the motor and both gears move. If I turn the head counter clockwise the motor does not move and only the top gear is moving. Is this correct?

CW no motor. Auto gear should turn along with tail

I have not put together the E5/s, yet.  However, with all my other CW rotating head helis, if I turn the head CW by hand, the head will spin freely and turn the tail CCW (as in normal flight) without affecting the motor.  On the other hand, if I turn the head CCW, it will catch and turn the motor.  My guess is that you have the OWB placement backwards.

If looking down on the rotor head from the top and you rotate the head clockwise only the tail drive gear (and tail rotor) should turn.  If the motor and pinion turn you need to flip your one way.
