VBar ... Paddle Simulate or NOT to Simulate ?
« on: August 29, 2013, 02:48:13 PM »
I have always done the Burt Kammerer setup , Paddle Simulation to 100% and love the feel. I've been told that Nick Maxwell is using a setup without paddle sim... What does it fly like with paddle sim at 0%

Reaction off center is slower. BUT Nick runs 16-18 degrees of pitch. Not because he uses that much, he knows it will bind. He sets that much so his reaction off center is quick and crisp.

He talks about his setup extensively on this weeks episode of RC Heli Nation Podcast.

Hard to explain, all I can say is you need to try to see what you like. I run most of my Synergy helis at around 25 (which is what I like best). Again you need to try it to see. start at 0 then try 10 and 20 and decide what you like best.

I like 45 on my setup.  It's a personal preference in my opinion.

Thanks guys

I will have to check out that pod cast Chris do you have a link to it?

I had set to max on V5.1 which I think was @ 45 or 5o "I can't remember it was a few years ago" and liked the feel then saw some videos from Burt on Vbar setup and he showed the tip of typing in 100% value, so I did and liked it even more.

Just didn't know how the Heli would react with it OFF or set to 0%  since all I've known was 50 ish to 100....

I've flown with it at 0% and it fly's good and you can be really smooth, just very soft around center. But if you like smack style 3D paddle sim 40%+ rocks, never gone above 50 on mine might have to try 100% this weekend to see what it feels like.

Gave 100 try and it felt good for smack only. I tried several settings and ended up with 20 as the one I liked the best for my E7.

To me paddle sim feels like it overrides the sticks during certain piro moves I don't like it and run 0 for a nice smooth linear feel... plenty of other ways to get it to smack without
