E6 with E7 boom
« on: October 28, 2011, 04:26:01 AM »
Is possible to run 600 blades with longer boom (E7)? will it be tail heavy? has anyone tried this?

I like the idea of  setting it up with E7 boom so I can always swap to 700 blades anytime without changing the boom and belt.

I haven't tried it or seen it done. I have seen someone use 106mm tail on an E6 and it performed very well. If I were you, I would just run it as configured. You will have more than just blades to change to get it to fly well.... throttle curves, gain etc etc

I've already done it on another type of heli, ran OK but was tail heavy. I say it works but you might have problems getting your CG right on.

I would Recommend Flying it like it is designed! When you go changing tail lengths and blade lengths as well, you start screwing with the MoMent /Arm of the help. The Hell is going to respond better with the tail tucked in rather than hanging way out with shorter blades. Run it like it's designed to be run and all is well. Rest assured Matt has searched all configurations and what you get with the kit is the way it ought to be flown. :D
