The new N5c TT kit
« on: September 12, 2013, 09:54:30 AM »
Hi,

Have just converted my N5c with the torque tube upgrade I have seen the pics of the new kit and see there are a few differences, Could anyone tell me just what the changes are and if any parts are off other models so I can convert now, like the lower head etc?
I would like to find out all the changes on the new kit
:-)

Besides the torque tube and new canopy paint, the entire head (block, spindle, grips, arms, swash drivers) is now the same as the E5.  Main shaft is shortened 10mm to accomodate this.

So If I buy the E5 parts will I be getting the right bits that will be in the kit? Including the main shaft?
Thanks for your help :-)

You cannot use the E5 main shaft.  You must used a shortened N5C shaft.
As mentioned, cut off 10mm.
Matt will have shortened main shafts available but I don't believe he has them yet.  It is not hard at all to cut one down.

Thankyou, will the rest of the bits be as per e5 when the kit comes out then, and what about the canopy mounts?

Yes, all head parts are actual E5 parts.  Don't think anything else is changing.

When I asked Matt about the canopy mounts he had indicated that those would still be the stock N5C ones.

The pictures on the site here of it show a different type of canopy mount compared to the ones I got in my kit?

E5 head uses a shorter spindle, shorter grips, narrower block and narrower arms.  The swash drivers are the same.

Ok, Thankyou, so the E5 head is up to the job of the nitro engine then?
