Pivot ball mount distance

The manual states to set the ball distance 13.5 mm from center on the cyclic servos, then below it it says if running flybarless you "may want to consider running 10mm" for better resolution. So my question is, is it telling me to run 10mm or just suggesting it. I'm about to setup my cyclics and need to know what I should be setting the distance at. Also I need to get new horn or wheels for all 3 servos and I wanted to run the align aluminum wheels. Will they provide the proper distance I need or should I look for another product.

I'm not sure about the Align wheels however you do want to get as close to the 10mm distance as possible with flybarless. I have mine running at 11mm and it's fine.

The Align servo wheels do not work due to the thickness around the spline and the distance needed. This causes binding to occur.
The quick UK wheels will work to get 10.5mm.

Thank you for the quick replys gentlemen. Mark, the quick uk wheel comes in either a 28 or 35 mm wheel, which one will work best on my n5c. Also, the only place I found them was on readyheli.com and they are all sold out. Is there any other place I might have any luck ordering them?

I dont use wheels. I just use the standard 4 point star horns that come with my servos.  Depending on the servo brand, getting ~10mm is pretty easy.

Chris, I purchased align ds615 for my cyclic, can I use the standard plastic 4 star horn that came with the servo? Is the plastic strong enough for the job. I'm not going to be flying any sort of hard 3d smack type stuff. If the plastic will work that would be awesome.

The plastic 4 point horns will work fine. Those are what I also use. Only time I have ever broken one is when crashing :-)

As Alan said they are plenty! I would rather the servo arm fail than risk trashing a set of servos or gears in a hard crash.  Like Alan, I have only had these break in a hard crash.

thats good to hear. I was also wondering, do i have to resize the links that came with the kit to fit the 5.5 ball or are they already sized accordingly. Im waiting on the link pliers from fbl rotors to get back in stock then i can start my setup

The links will need to be sized to get the best fit. Pick yourself up a BotoSizer for the job, they work great.
