Just so everyone knows it can be done with ease...
I elongated the front canopy holes with a small dremel bit to accommodate the N7 mount. Just be sure to center the elongation at the existing location. Another words elongate both the front and rear of the hole equally.
I replaced the existing key chain style female with the male N7 canopy mount post. I did add one tail spacer washer between it and the frame. Without the washer my main gear rubbed. I used a 18x3mm socket head screw to attach the post.
Here are pics. I will add one showing the elongated hole to accomaodate the mount tomorrow.
