E7se Head Speed
« on: August 30, 2013, 12:14:37 PM »
Well got my SE back together again after my IRCHA dumb thumb crash and all is well. Still do t have the 1700-1800 head speed but at 1600 I can float like a butterfly. This Heli is just awesome at low head speed jut got to remember when your close to the ground you need room to give collective. At 2000 head speed it's a screaming machine. Can't amagine going into the 2200 speed. Now I'm ready for the nitro, Matt have you got a date yet when it's coming to us? Really don't want to step down to the bottom and get a Trex. Somebody in the Synergy Family have a good date for the new nitro??? Thanks Alan for all your support, look forward to Triple Tree event.

Glad to hear that puppy is flying again Gary. 😀
The N7 will be late this year from the sound of things. Start collecting parts for it. The rest if us have!
See you at Triple Tree.

Cheers

Thanks guys. I might have to try the 7S trick instead of my 12S packs I'm using now.

I just got my E7 together and im running 2150 for top end head speed with 696 main and 116 tail. only 12 degrees of pitch it just doesn't feel like it has as much pop from watching Matt fly what is his head speed he runs for hard 3D flight anyone know. And what pitch in the blades is 12 to low should i have 13.5 or 14? my head speeds are 1950,2050,and 2150.

thanks.

IIRC, he runs 1900 rpm.  I'm running 1900 rpm with +/-14 degrees of pitch and like it.  I was running 2150 rpm but dialed mine back and still like it a lot, plus I get longer flight times.

I like 1900 but it just seems like the tail is not as locked in as it is in 2150. i still have the old cf frames so im not able to upgrade the tail gear ratio to speed up the tail. for low head speeds ill try 14 +/- pitch but that would make me wonder if the tail would blow out  more with hard pitch pumps but ill fly it maybe up my gain see what happens! thanks for the input.

Cheers. :D

Nick,

What size tail blades are you running?  Also, it's pretty easy to install the other gears to speed the tail up.  All you need is a round jeweler's file.  You only have to slot the holes very very slightly to get the clearance you need.

Rodney - are you running the 116 tails?

I'll have to take a look.  Until last weekend, I hadn't flown my E7 since last September and I really can't remember what tail blades I have on it.
