N7 Temp telemetry

Hey guys, seeing as I am using a Futaba 18MZ Tx  with telemetry, I have bought the Temp sensor to fit to the OS105 HZ-R to keep an eye on its tune, and avoid a lean run.

What temps should I be looking for, say 85/90c (185/195F) and where are you fitting the sensor wire? I was thinking at the back of the cylinder just before the head?

Those temps are fine. I would invest my time in learning what a lean motor sounds like rather than counting on temps alone.

I totally agree, it was just more of a safety net. Obviously in winter with denser air, the motor will run cooler than in the heat of summer (not that we get that hot in the summer in the UK!!)

I have mine stuck with some RTV right on the blue cylinder head, the last few times I went from 90 Deg Centigrade to 100 Deg, I set an alarm in my TX for 115 Deg Centigrade, think I found lean once and it triggered, so landed straight away and opened up the needle a few clicks. It also triggered after big loops but I know it was running rich still so yes very useful as is the head speed to check the governor is working.
