Ball Link tool

Using the Botosizer to size the ball links makes this job of sizing your links very easy. This additional tip aids in obtaining the perfect link sizing without having to pop links on and off the swash, head, etc..

Here I used a Synergy E7 frame spacer with a regular swash ball screwed into the end. I then chuck it up into a hand drill to make it easier to handle. This allows easy sizing of the ball links with the Botosizer off of the heli which to me is a plus.

Good tip.  I find the Botosizer pretty darn easy to use and it seems to take very few spins of it to get the ball link to the right size.

On occasion I have gone one spin too many...  Always keep a few extra links on hand

The ball pictured is used as a reference only when using the Botosizer.  So the ball is stock.  Again this just saves having to pop the links on and off the swash, arms, etc to check the fit.

Do you ever find that a plastic link sized correctly for one ball may be either too tight or too loose on another ball?

On occasion but not enough where I would need to resize a link.

Trying to think if something like this could help me screw ball link ends on their rods…

Mike.  For that I finally just took a JR link tool and opened up the grove to fit the Synergy Links... I had purchased the JR heli tool kit a few years ago and this was included.  I think the tool is available in a smaller kit now...

Thanks Alan!  I have a similar tool I purchased from Heliproz a LONG time ago.  Maybe I should do a bit of grinding on it as well.

Has anyone sharpened their sizer?

Did you use Sand paper/ File/Dremel?

I don't think sharpened is the word for what I have done to mine... I have taken a piece of 800grit sand paper and lightly sanded one side of the split. I also clean the splits with a exacto knife after every couple links.
