KDE motor and YGE?
« on: February 27, 2014, 08:55:21 PM »
I'm in the process of deciding on components for an E5 build.

I've been happy with the YGE 90HV and Scorpion 4025-630 on my 600 and the 60LV and the MSH Scorpion 880KV on a Protos 500. In both cases the ESC runs cool and the motor provides good power at reasonable temps.

Does anyone have experience with a KDE motor and YGE ESC, either 6S or 12S?

I asked KDE if the 700XF and YGE were a good combo in the past, and they stated that the YGE ESCs do not like 8 pole motors.  I believe the new 600XF-530-G3 is a 10 pole motor, and I can't find the second generation one listed on their website now.  So, I would verify whichever one you are looking at is not an eight pole motor.

Interesting. Thanks for the info.

I'll need to do a little more research. I am considering 6S and the KDE XF600-1100 is an 8-pole motor.

My 4020-630 is also an 8-pole motor. I'll have to look to see if I ever logged any flights with it and the YGE. As far as I can tell it delivers good power.
