Hey madbird,
I was wondering why your head gain is set so high?? My n7 and n5c are both 60 and 65 !

Rick, it's just a pure lack of knowledge when it comes to setting up the VBar.

I've come from exclusively using the AR7200BX on 450 size helis where I've never had the need to change the swash gain from default. When setting up the VBar on the N7, the main window of the PC software shows little text bubbles next to the gain sliders indicating the 'recommended' settings for different models. As the Logo 500/600 and 90 size models are listed at 90 I thought that 100 would be a good place to start for a 700 size.

Ok thanks ! I watched mr Mel's video about nitro governor and he says start at 60 . Just an FYI , that's where I started and it's worked perfectly . Do a you tube search for mr Mel's vbar 101 . Not sure what episode it is but very good info there as well about the vbar setup!

Thanks for the info Rick. I did go through Mr Mel's 101 series to help with my setup, but didn't get much info on where to start with swash gain etc.

I'll definitely be revisiting his tutorials to help with the fine tuning.

Ok I just looked it up for you so you can go right to the source. Its Episode 23 vbar gov remake. Its about 3/4 the way through the video where he returns to the main screen on the vbar and talks about the gains, etc. Have a look and enjoy your N7 its an awesome heli. Let me know if you need anything else.
Hey Kevin you going to IRCHA this year?

What causes a wobble on spool down and up.? Smooth in the air as it spools down on the ground it wobbles line the head is out balance. New 716s quick bolt balance check seems fine however I don't have a balance for these bigger blades. Just put this back together and it was smooth before? Smooth on the bench with the blades off.

Possibly a lead lag issue. Could be main blades too tight or too loose.  Or one tighter than the other.

Now I can see this one blade starts to lag aft causing the rotor to come out of balance. Similar to the first spool up wobble when you don't have the blades perfectly in line with each other. It's basically the same. Then very smooth at HS.

I may have not tighten them the same. I will try to match up the tension of each blade grips.

Thanks,
Barry

Well matching the blade grip tension helped out a lot. Still wobbles a bit at half throttle. May need to check the blade balance? Or loosen the grips and try that. I may be running them to tight.

Ok backed the grip tension off a bit and wobble is completely gone. Must have had the blades way to tight.
