e5 626 stretch
« on: February 28, 2016, 07:36:05 PM »
I'm currently using an a 120 hv castle edge on my 626 stretch. running 1500 1650 and 1900 headspeeds on 6s. I wanted to know if I can get away with using an 80 hv edge. flying some nice smooth and occasionally a bit aggressive 3d.

I personally wouldn't , I would run the 120HV, I ran it on my 626 as well as the 556.😉

Spinning 626mm blades on 6S is will pull quite a bit of current even at the lower 1500rpm to 1900rpm range.  If geared for 1900rpm, flying for long periods at the lower 1500rpm may also run the ESC hotter since the Castle ESC's don't feature active free wheeling.

You may want to check your CC 120HV logs and determine the max temperature and how much current you are pulling before decreasing to a 80A CC ESC on 6S.

I'd recommend keeping the 120 on there as well.

I run the 120 on my E5s, swinging 626s, running some lower headspeed with 890kv motor for 7+ minutes.
