Swashplate Leveling Tool
« on: June 08, 2016, 12:03:21 PM »
Good Afternoon Everyone,

The Synergy 766 is my first helicopter to have a 12 mm main shaft.  Are there any recommendations/advice on which one I need to get?  I also need to get a larger set of ball link pliers.  Thank you for your time and assistance.

Have a good afternoon,

Wayne Derrick

Ball link pliers are easy, check out FBLRotors.com

As for the swash leveler any 12mm will work.

This is mine.

HeliDirect used to sell them. I couldn't find it there.

The Align swash leveler allows for both 10 & 12mm shafts.. Remove the insert for the 12mm...

I use the Soko heli tool.  It connects to the blade grips instead of the main shaft and works for a really wide range of heli sizes.

Buy a soko Heli tool. You'll never have to buy another swash leveling tool again for any other heli. Plus, it's much more than just a swash leveling tool.

Good Afternoon Everyone,

After a lot of research and just listening to everyone here, I decided to cave in and try the Soko Heli Tool.  I ordered it today and look forward to using it when it gets here late next week or the following week.  I hope everyone has a Great and Safe 4th of July weekend.

Nice.  Just take your time and make sure to really pay attention to the prompts and after a few times you'll be able to do a full setup really quick.

When I first got my Soko Kit I used it just like a normal pitch gauge which it's great for, just much more accurate than any other I know of. I had an RC Logger kit I paid about $100 for and gave it to a friend after getting the Soko. After a while I decided to try out the other things you can do with it and it's a wonderful tool. I honestly don't know why others are continuing to make pitch gauges. I really don't. Nothing comes close to the Soko. When you use it with the app, be sure to read the directions and pay close attention to the black and blue balls in the app otherwise it'll make an ass out of you very quickly. L. Yes... I know from experience.

As others here have said, once you get used to the flow of using it with the app, you'll love it! I didn't pay close attention in the app to the blue and black balls in the illustrations and really jacked it up. When I realized my mistake and did it over, it was perfect. Once I got used to it, it really is quicker than the old way because following the app, once you've gone through all the steps, you've set everything along the way. Swash level, collective and cyclic pitch... Wonderful tool.
