Pyro 700-52 in e5 ss

Guys, would this motor work for the e5ss?

I kind of have an idea what I am going to use but would like to see what others are using. I am looking at a wide range probably 1200 - 1800 for headspeed. Would like to have a motor that would give me the range so all I had to do was change pinions.

Just search for E5SS and you will get plenty of ideas.  I am using a Hacker A50-14L Turnado V3 (400KV) with 12T pinion for headspeeds in the 1300 to 1700 RPM range.

I think the pyro 700 is an excellent choice.  Having used 450/400, and now 350kv in my E5/700 (E5SS), I'm pretty familiar with power setups in that machine.   Using the 400kv hacker and smallest pinion, (timing bumped a touch to slightly increase kv, but not a lot), I had 1250/1500/1750 as my flight modes.  It was very happy there but I found I stayed at the lower rpms most of the time and wanted something more refined/efficient in the lower range, sacrificing the higher rpm. The 12~14 minute flights just weren't enough for me using 12s/4350 packs .  I had one of the hackers wound to 350kv, and it's not setup for 1250/1450 with another couple minutes of flight time.  1750 made the machine surprisingly fast and unless you want to do smack style 3D at ballistic revs, I don't think any more is needed.

Thanks Gary. I ended up ordering the Hacker A50 14L 400 Kv motor with the long shaft, however they don't have the long shaft in stock and by the time i get it to canada i won't see it for at least another 2 weeks or more. So my question is will the motor with the standard shaft length work or will it be to short? What is the length required to get down into the bottom bearing in the E5 frame?

From the motor base to the bottom of the pinion bearing support block is about 33.5mm. The bearing is about 1mm inside the support block. A 34mm (or more) shaft would be good.
