Power Switch
« on: September 17, 2019, 11:29:19 PM »
Anyone using a power switch on the 516? The canopy isn't exactly a quick on and off and I don't exactly have a short walk to my tuning table. Thinking about installing one.

Thoughts?

I have a tough time with my canopy as well.  It's getting better though, but I have to have it elevated off the ground, in order for me to see.  I don't run a power switch, as I see it as another thing to fail.  I just take my time, and it's getting easier.

As you say, it does get easier with practice but my barn, where I have my setup table, is about 200 Yards from where I take off. I just didn't want to walk that far with everything powered on because I didn't feel like removing the canopy, haha

I ended up replacing the canopy with a carbon one and as a side effect, it's much more flexible and easy to install/remove. By accident, this little problem is solved for me!

From where did you get the carbon canopy?  Any after market canopy attachments that would make it easier?  I don't own one yet.

^That's the one! I got the blue one from Helilids. HUGE discount on them... Looks like they're discontinued on Canomod's website.

~17g lighter than stock too!

I was referring to my stock. Canomod no longer sells to dealers so once my stock is gone it’s gone.

I was on another site and realized... Are you the guy behind Helilids?

I was looking around and saw there are 696's in stock were others do not have it, Synergy is the main brand supported, etc., ...Looks like I've been shopping at the wrong stores!

I'd be happy to give Helilids more business knowing what I know now!

That would be Me.  Synergy is the only Heli Brand I handle. Plus all the other goodies we need :-)
I know Synergy!

In that case, I've been wasting my time at other shops! You, Sir, have my business moving forward. You've been a huge help to me on this forum and my first order was handled perfectly and quickly through Helilids. I'm sold!
