Backwards Skid Mounting?
« on: December 23, 2019, 11:56:21 PM »
I'm noticing some guys mounting their skids "backwards" or rear biased. i.e.: Instead of slanting toward the nose, they're slanted towards the tail. Just curious what the reason is... Personal preference, appearance, balance, function?

Exactly!
Well at least for me its all of those

The one practical element is that all of them (516, E5s, 696, 766) sit on their skids kool without dragging a tail fin on the bench even without a lipo onboard

And from experience the difference to COG is minimal.

One of my guesses would have been not slapping the tail when lifting without a lipo.

Merry Christmas!!

IMO the synergy line looks way better than others do with the struts this way. Other brands look backwards, but not these. If you look at the main shaft even with the skids 'backwards' the 'cg' is still forward of the center of the skids
