Hello,
My name is Donald Holder and I have been doing R/C Helicopters pretty much from they're inception. I'm on RF 6 a lot these days hosting and flying there also. I started out with a Kyosho Concept 30 years ago, any body remember them? Had to buy a second one of those also and then a Concept 30SX, then 46VR, then had a 60SR.
I was hooked way back then am still am. Had a Hirobe Stork SE, GMP Legend Flybarless (way ahead of it's time) and then Got an X-Cell 60 (bent frame version) Still got the X-Cell, pretty much a Custom at this point. Somewhere in there I got a Kalt Enforcer ( really cool design features). I have had a lot of neat experiences over the years, and boy good stories to tell! How about Free Flight Concept 30's that return to home! Oh shit also a Kyosho Nexus 30 in there too at some point. Anyways now going back full circle to FBL I am the proud owner of a N5C, I would appreciate any help on setup for this model as I don't want auger it in! Futaba 8FG Super and CGY 750 gyro! Trying to copy Matt's setup, but I'm a mere mortal wantabee fair pilot at this point for a lot of normal reasons we all have had, divorces, job loss, etc, etc! This is a great hobby as I learn a lot and don't get hurt generally doing it. Such as in Motorcycle racing! But I have had to take a Dive from one of my incoming copters once! Hit the Dirt! Wham just missed me, end of that one!
One of my good flying buddies Joe Arnold ( now deceased) got my started in this mess and I still enjoy it! He told you can never go wrong with OS and Futaba, I think he was right! My Dad has also been telling me for years I needed to get a good flight simulator, finally listened in the end of 2011. I have finally as of 2012 been able to hover and fly a R/C Chopper inverted for the first time now! Cheered when I landed, jumped up and down. God if people only knew how challenging it is to get this stuff right these days, I remember the old mechanical gyro's, wood blades on and on. Where Copters are these days is exciting! I glad I'm still aboard, I'm willing to offer any help to anyone and need some myself. There is nothing more awsome than a good flying Heli.
Well enough, Donald Holder Holder@comcast.net
