Crashed the N5c
« on: June 17, 2012, 09:43:22 PM »
Well I crashed the N5c yesterday. Was practicing my left hand turns which I struggle with and was going to fast, low, and dumb thumbed it. I was gaining confidence as the day went on and well you know the rest. Just grabbed the E7 and kept on flying the rest of the day. Too bad though cause the N5c was flying awesome.

It is hard to go at it again with some of the same maneuvers after you have a mishap. You'll get her back in no time like Kevin said.

Its a tough one as I am making the turns into a forward upright hurricane circuit kind of thing.
Its when the bird is coming at me and past the point of no return that I get discombobulated.
I am starting to fly lower as three mistakes high gets boring and harder to see exactly what it is doing.
Is it just me or are left hand turns harder than right had turns?

For me it depends on which direction I'm headed. If my nose is pointed left and I'm flying left I have and easier time making a right turn and then vice versa. I feel like Derek Zoolander "I can't turn left!"

Rocky,

It is very easy to get comfortable in regards to which "turn" you find yourself making the most. I have suffered from this myself, I honestly never thought much about it until I had one of the Local "MOUTHS" say (Can You not fly the other way) Of course that got just a bit under my skin considering this cat flies and lands tail in and I will cut the top of a set of blades down in a heart beat.lol  Anyway It did make me realize that I was complacent, so I began switching it up more. Every time I fly the last flight of the day is what I call "Going Back To Basics"  It's just practice.. You will get it soon if you stick with it.. Just take a deep breath and Try not to think about it. I have always said it doesn't matter what tricks you can do, I have seen some guys Fly the Hell out of there machine and get into one position where they loose there composure and fall like a three holed brick.. Practice all orientations religiously and pretty soon, you will be a foot off the ground and be able to manage any situation you may find yourself in... Good luck on the Rebuild and Keep your chin up and Grind it out..Like I said above, It's awesome you went straight for the "E". So many guys would have been Derailed and packed it up!!  You'll get it!! ;)

BR,

Kevin
