Bad parts out of the box.
« on: October 29, 2012, 12:42:41 AM »
Very sad, brand new start shaft was bent. didnt realize it was bent. Took out the oneway in the clutch. :(
swash plate heim ball notchy, not smooth from the stock short balls, took swash apart to fix.
Torrington one way bearing installed wrong in main hub. No biggie, just flipped hub.. But still shouldn't happened.
Haven't even flown it yet and im 40$ into fixing it.. I must have gotten a friday kit :)
Other then that, totally bad ass kit. Cant wait to fly it.... One day.

Matt will get with you i'm sure. The main gear is designed to go on either way.  Just doesn't always match the pic in the manual.  I have never heard if anyone having a bent starter shaft out of the box.  That one is a fluke?
I did alert Matt.

Cheers,
Alan

Jabird,

Send me an email at matt@mattbotos.com and we can sort through whatever you need to get the N5c working correctly.

Thanks!

it was the hub i flipped, i know the main can go either way, it worked with the hub flip. I guess the dimensions are the same right side up or upside down, so I guess it doesn't matter. I know pictures dont always match. thats why they make addendum's. once again, no biggie. start shaft.. I know, very rare, I have never had one bent on any of my choppers. Theres always the possibility I did it. with the bottom of the start shaft hollow, i could see how easily it could become damaged if you dont put engine in right. I mean it could of been my fault. but i dont think i did anything to bend it.. However, water under the bridge.. fixed now. Oh yeah, i also took the motor shims out, makes the alignment way better..
