I am new to this Heli, is 2100 for top Headspeed ok?

Recommendations appreciated , including Headspeed range... I would also like to fly around 1759  too I think

I have a very good friend running the Pyro 700-52 and the 12T pinion is perfect! My personal ideal head speed is 2050 on 716 mains, I did run 2150 on my Rail 696 mains.

As for acceptable ranges of head speed, that's the beautiful part of the E7, it is such a versatile platform, if can be flown as low as 1000rpm! (See Matt Botos and Rob Cherry's extreme low head speed threads) and as high as you can imagine. I would think 2200 or higher is over kill, but hey that's up to your style.

Good luck on the build, I recommend you look over the Tips and Tricks sections for the E7. A lot of GREAT information! Enjoy the Heli, it's a blast.

I bought used, was a belt tail, butt I didn't get the tail ( I think it had gone in tail first or something). Got a good deal.

So bought the torque tube kit,

I am new typo soupy nervy but not new o 700.

Yes 2050 top sounds good for my style

I presume a YGE 120  HV is plenty

I have considered 10s with this motor, keep things lighter, but not sure it's worth it

Comments on that?

What blades does this bird like best?

10S is an option but 520kv might be a bit low.

The e7 can swing up to 720mm main blades and up to 116mm tail blades. I have personally flown Edge 693, Edge 693SE, Rail 696, and currently I am running Rail 716mains.

For my big air, sport style, the floaty feeling and CRAZY pop of the 716s is great!

Yes, the YGE 120HV is plenty, I would recommend the Heat shield. The Pyro motor can pull some amps.

Decided on 716 rails

I am concerned about clearance for 116 tails

Are they really ok?

That's what I have purchased, just want to be sure no chance of hitting those long tail blades with those long main blades

716 are fine. Just pull the tail box back about 5mm. Run any tail blades you want now.

I truly like the Pyro 700-52, it's light weight and the coolest running motor I have tried. I do wish there was a Pyro 500Kv motor, my 520 is a true 532Kv and it could use a little more torque.

With a 12t pinion, 96mm blades and my old school flying style, I have noticed when running a (tacked) head speed below 1980 the motor and ESC will run hotter.

I ran the Pyro 700-45L on my E7 with the stock pinion and had great results. I typically like a lower head speed (1900~1950) and it worked well.

However I am looking for a little more punch and with that headspeed increase, so I switched it out for the Xera 500KV. I agree with the previous statement that a Pyro 500KV would be the ticket!
