Push Rod Sleeve purpose.
« on: December 01, 2012, 12:45:13 PM »
Hello,

What is the purpose of the Push Rod Sleeve ?

How are they mounted relatively to the Push Rod Guide ?

Did they be inserted into the Push Rod Guide hole (seems difficult  :D) ?

Thanks

They are shrink wrap Teflon. Shrink them over the push rod and center the rod mounts over them. Takes up the slack and doesn't bind.

I just cut each in half and use 2 halves on rod. save the other one as spare. Just heat shrink each centered with guides. You need to measure where guides will be, then heat tubes in position, and re-sinstall after shrinking.

also the biggest thing is it anti chaffing to the pushrod for wearing the pushrod out.

Use a hair dryer or heat gun. An open flame like a lighter might burn or cause bubbling and the Teflon won't work as good.
