Head pinch bolts and movement
« on: March 12, 2013, 05:26:16 PM »
It doesn't say to but should loctite be installed on head pinchbolts ?

Also do you suggest lube main shaft with trifllow? And how about the ball in the swash?

Thanks in advance,
Jim

I do put a little blue on the pinch bolts  just don't go overboard.

As for lube I oil my main and tail shaft with triflow oil pen every few flights. Oiling the swash ball isn't a horrible idea.

Thanks Chris,

The swash seems a little stuff which was why I asked about the swash ball. Thanks again

Mine was a touch tight too. It will loosen up after a few flights. The tolerances on the synergy parts are very tight. The TT will seem rough for a few flights too while it breaks in.

Actually, there is no need for thread lock on any pinch bolt.  The pinching action works to retain the fastener.  This includes the tail box, boom clamps and the fan hub on the N5.

Plus 1 Darren.
